KCR, Telangana Cabinet expresses shock over Himachal tragedy

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Cabinet colleagues expressed shock and deep anguish over the sad incident involving 25 Telugu students of VNR Vignana Jyothi Engineering College, Bachupally, Hyderabad drowned in a river in Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister has directed to send immediately a team headed by Home Minister along with BR Meena, Principal Secretary (Revenue) and Kartikeyan, Superintendent of Police, Grey Hounds, to Himachal Pradesh to take stock of the situation.

The Chief Minister has also directed Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma to be in touch with his counterpart of Himachal Pradesh to expedite the rescue operations and to keep the details updated from time to time. He has also instructed the Resident Commissioner, New Delhi to coordinate with the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

The Cabinet of Telangana State, which met at the State Secretariat on Sunday evening, has also approved draft of Governor’s address to the joint session of the State Legislature.

The Cabinet has also taken a decision to nominate an Anglo Indian as Member of Telangana Legislative Assembly under Article, 333 of the Constitution of India. The Cabinet has also discussed about the filling up of vacancies to the Telangana Legislative Council to be nominated by Governor. (INN)
