Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said that it was the time that the state machinery mends its ways and fix the irregularities to ensure that the delivery of services reach the needy.
Speaking at a review meeting with top officials on the reorganization of the districts at the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resources Development Institute, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the increasing complaints on the prevalence of corruption in some government departments. The Chief Minister said that the people are put to lot of inconvenience due to large scale corruption and directed the officials the need to implement Citizens Charter and ensure speedy delivery of services without any hurdles. He said that there was need for structural revamp of the departments to serve the purpose of the welfare schemes in the state.
Stating that departments should reorganize to offer better services, he said that public health, survey department and chief planning wing are to be expanded. The government wants to make use of services of the officials for implementing special schemes and then shift them to others for speedy disbursal of the projects. He said that the mandal revenue officer be now referred to as Tahsildar henceforth.
The Chief Minister directed the top officials to visit other states to study and examine the working style of the departments there. (INN)
