TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, on the occasion of the 16th Plenary Session of the ruling party is likely to sound the poll bugle, keeping in view the 2019 elections, to make the pink brigade get ready for the battle royal from now itself by highlighting the government’s achievements since its inception, especially developmental and welfare programs for the poor and downtrodden.
TRS founder-president KCR, who was once again re-elected unanimously, would unfurl the party flag to signal the commencement of the plenary session being held on a sprawling ground, which has literally turned into pink with party flags and buntings. As many as some 10,000 delegates from all the 31 districts are expected to attend the session for which 31 special counters were set up to direct the delegates to their respective seats. The delegates are being issued special identity cards and only having these cards would allowed into the specially-erected huge pandal where scores of air-coolers were put up to ward off the scorching summer heat.
Six huge dining halls were set up for delegates to have their lunch where special dishes of Telangana flavour are expected to be served. Butter milk and cool water would be supplied by a band of volunteers in the pandal. A special pandal was also created for Muslim delegates to offer Friday prayers. The venue of the plenary session was also fitted with CC cameras to keep a close watch on the proceedings and prevent any untoward incident. Over 2,000 police personnel have been deployed for security arrangements. Huge LED Screens were also put up at vantage points for those at a distance to have a clear view of the proceedings on the dais. Six Fire engines and medical teams with ambulances were also kept as a stand by for any emergency. All steps were taken by the organizers to ensure that there would be no traffic problems for the people in view of the plenary session by ensuring the vehicles coming from the districts were routed through the Outer Ring Road only. Special parking arrangements were also made for parking of vehicles.
After hoisting the party flag by KCR, homage would be paid to the martyrs, who had laid down their lives for the cause of separate Telangana State. Later, the party supremo would deliver inaugural address. Later, as many as seven resolutions are expected to be moved and adopted after discussions on each one of them. The resolutions expected to be moved include on the working of the State administration, agriculture, irrigation, industry, harithaharam, corporate education for the rural poor, electricity, caste-based avocations and so on. After an hour’s lunch break, the discussion on the resolutions would resume. The session would conclude with an address by the Chief Minister again in the evening. (NSS)
