Reminding that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s provocatively speeches against the then Telangana Congress leaders asking them to mount pressure on the then Chief Minister to conduct the Telangana Liberation Day officially, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was showing clear opportunism by not conducting the Liberation Day officially.
After hoisting the national flag marking the Hyderabad Samsthan merger with Indian Union on September 17, 1948, here on Saturday at Gandhi Bhavan, Uttam said that KCR spoke in length during the Telangana movement on Liberation Day being in opposition. The Karnataka and Maharashtra governments were celebrating Telangana Liberation Day officially on September 17, he said questioning KCR to tell as to why he was not celebrating the Liberation Day after coming to power. He alleged that KCR totally failed to fulfill the aspirations of the Telangana people. He said that the Telangana people have the history of waging war against Nizam and it was not a big thing to wage war against KCR. He said that the Congress party has the history of fulfilling the aspirations of the people and it also has the history of waging movements for the sake of people.
Former ministers, senior leaders V Hanumantha Rao, Danam Nagender, Madhu Yashki Goud, Ponnam Prabhakar, Mallu Ravi, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Kumar Rao, Anil Kumar Yadav participated in the program.
