KCR seeks separate HC, Special status to state

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today proposed a resolution in Telangana State Assembly seeking the Center to divide the existing High court of Andhra Pradesh. Since T State came into existence from June 2, it is imperative to have our own HC, he said. He sought that the Center should consider that the existing HC be given to 29th state of Telagnana and take necessary steps to set up one for AP state in the wake of bifurcation. Besides seeking special status to 29th state of Telangana, the Chief Minister also proposed that the Center create a separate OBC Ministry for the welfare of a large chunk of BCs elsewhere in the country. Another key proposal that will prove handy is that to give tax exemption to Singareni workers. The Assembly passed the resolutions later. (NSS)
