KCR seeks Prime Minister’s intervention

Hyderabad, May 17: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti has appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take steps to ensure allocation of natural gas in full quantities from the D-6 block of Krishna Godavari basin to the proposed 2,100 MW combined cycle power project at Nedunur in Karimnagar district.

The TRS wanted Prime Minister’s intervention in allocating gas for the project as efforts of the State government failed to yield any result.

In a letter addressed to Dr. Singh, TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao explained that the AP Power Generation Corporation had obtained necessary statutory clearances for setting up the project, but further process for finalising the EPC contract was stalled in the absence of firm allocation of gas.
