Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has sanctioned Rs. 5 lakh for the treatment of a watchman’s granddaughter.
According to a CMO release, during KCR’s visit to Sri Sitarama Chandraswamy Temple in Mataram village of Modigunda mandal of Khammam district on February 16, the temple’s watchman Shaik Mastan approached the Chief Minister for help. He told KCR that he was working as a temple’s watchman on temporary basis and drawing a monthly salary of Rs. 3,000 for the last 10 years. Therefore, he was unable to get treatment for his granddaughter Sahera Begum who was under his guardianship after her father’s death.
While appreciating Shaik Mastan for protecting a temple as watchman despite being a Muslim, the Chief Minister had directed the officials to submit a detailed report on the estimates of medical expenses for girl’s treatment. Based on the report, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs. 5 lakh and the same has been handed over Mastan on Monday. (INN)
