KCR rule is a curse for farmers: TDP

TDP Telangana today strongly criticized the ruling TRS party and accused it of failing to address problems of farmers in the State.

At a joint media conference held at NTR trust bhavan here on Wednesday, TDP central committee member Arikela Narsa Reddy alleged that the TRS government has utterly failed to resolve farmers’ problems. The farmers are not provided new loans since the last two years, he alleged. He said negligent attitude of the TRS government has claimed 2,538 lives of farmers, who had committed suicides. But the government claimed only 353 deaths.

He said his party is organizing “Rytu diksha” on September 19 and 20 at Indira Park demanding to resolve their problems. “We will highlight the pathetic conditions of farmers”, he said and called upon farmers to join the diksha and make it a grand success and mount pressure on the TRS government.

Former minister Vijayarama Rao sarcastically described the two-year KCR rule as a curse for the farmers as KCR has iron leg. The ruling party has promised to waive loans of every farmer, but after capturing power it changed and said only one loan of a family of farmers would be waived off.

Dubbing the State government as anti-farmer, Vijayarama Rao said the Centre has released Rs 700 crore to Telangana State to help the distressed farmers. But the State government has diverted the funds to the Mission Bhagiratha, he alleged.

TDP State general secretaries Bollam Mallaiah and E Mallesham, Medak district party president Sashikala Yadav Reddy also accused the TRS government of failing to resolve farmers” problems. (NSS)
