KCR Riding Twin Horses

Hyderabad, October 20: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is playing hide and seek with both Congress and BJP so that he retains the maximum bargaining power at the time of the next elections.

Despite dropping enough hints that he could join hands with BJP which has pledged unconditional support to the statehood cause, KCR has cleverly avoided meeting the senior BJP leader L K Advani during the latter’s “Jan Chetna Yatra” in the state. Instead, he has allowed his fellow-MP Vijayashanthi to welcome Advani when his convoy entered Medak district and participate in the Yatra.

Vijayashanthi not only stood by Advani’s side throughout his public meetings but also stated publicly that it was BJP alone which could deliver Telangana state.

KCR has been using Vijayashanthi’s shoulders to fire at the Congress. The firebrand actress has been spewing venom at the Congress leadership and painting the ruling party as the main villain.

However, in a double-cross, KCR has kept the door open for Congress also. When there was a talk of his party’s possible merger with Congress, the TRS chief never denied the reports.

According to sources close to him, KCR wants the Telangana issue to be alive till 2014 elections so that he could reap electoral harvest and play a key role in the post-poll scenario.
