Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao today directed the officials concerned to take immediate measures against private educational institutions which were violating norms while taking out students on excursions to other parts of the country.
At a high-level review meeting with officials of Higher Education Department and JNTU on the heart-rending Himachal watery grave incident, the Chief Minister sought to know the norms and directed them to take necessary action against the erring colleges. He also directed the officials to get back the bodies retrieved from the tragedy spot to Hyderabad and hand them over to their parents.
It may be recalled that the Telangana State Government pressed a team, led by Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, to Himachal Pradesh along with BR Meena, Commissioner Disaster Management and others.
The team coordinated with the government concerned and monitored the issue. Earlier the Chief Minister held a review meeting with IT and Panchayat Raj departments. (NSS)
