With TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao resting in his Medak farm house, each of the other players in the Telangana movement have been charting their own paths and agendas for achieving the ‘T’ state.
While KCR warned the Congress that it would see the violent form of the ‘T’ people’s wrath if it failed to make an announcement by August 20, his lieutenants are stating that he was planning strategies at the farm house. However, none other than TRS leaders, was believing the words of KCR that he has received some secret signals from the Union government on Telangana.
CPI general secretary Dr K Narayana said that KCR had lost trustworthiness and the people of Telangana were no longer believing his words. He sarcastically said he would offer sweets to KCR if the Centre made a pro-‘T’ announcement as he had said. As CPI also lost its confidence in KCR, it started chalking out its own agitation for achieving Telangana, through the ‘Telangana Poru Yatra’.
Apart from the CPI, the BJP and Telangana Political JAC were also making their own plans to loosen TRS party’s stranglehold on the ‘T’ movement. KCR on the other hand, was trying to come out with a fresh plan to once again regain his monopoly over the Telangana movement. Though achieving ‘T’ would be easy if all the political parties join hands together, there appears to be no such consensus. Each party is however interested in strengthening itself politically using the ‘T’ cause by following their own paths.
While the TPJAC was planning to seal Hyderabad through its Telangana March on September 30, the CPI was planning Telangana Poru Yatra from August 25 to September 3.
The BJP on the other hand is having its own plans of getting strengthened in the Telangana where it won one seat (Mahbubnagar) during a recent by-election, trouncing the powerful TRS. This victory gave the saffron party an idea that it could get itself strengthened if only it could put an end to the hegemony of TRS in the ‘T’ movement. Following this thinking, BJP state president G Kishan Reddy is planning Satyagraha at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi from September 3. The state BJP is also planning other agitation methods in the region, to project itself as the foremost champion of the ‘T’ cause.
Sensing the mood of other parties, KCR also is learnt to be trying to devise ways for once again occupying the driver’s seat of the movement. He is said to be planning a brainstorming session of his men for three days from the 24th of this month.
