KCR regime failed in all sectors, vote for Congress allies for better future: Sonia Gandhi

Hyderabad: During her first leg of political campaign of Peoples Front comprising the Congress, TD, TJS and CPI in Telangana for the ensuing polls on December 7, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today slammed the four-and-a-half-year TRS rule.

Accusing the KCR Government of failing to address the problems and difficulties of farmers, youth, students, Dalits, Tribals and other sections, Sonia Gandhi exhorted the people of Telangana to vote for the Congress alliance for better future and meet the aspirations. Sonia Gandhi was here to campaign for the polls along with AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi, former Union minister Shelja and on the dais were RC Khuntia, Renuka Chowdhary and other local leaders.

Sonia Gandhi recalled that t he UPA Regime at the Centre accorded statehood followed by a decision by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC Vice President. “We had taken the decision despite sensing the loss to the Congress in the State and promised to offer special category status to Andhra Pradesh. The Congress dispensation gave statehood to see shining on the faces of the people and cater to their aspirations”, she added.
Sonai Gandhi slammed the TRS regime for failing to meet the expectations and dreams of the people. Did the KCR Government address the issues of the farmers, people and youth. “The factors of the statehood like water, funds and jobs are not achieved. Land Acquisition Act was dumped by the TRS regime and MNAREGA was ignored. The youth in Telangana are unhappy and in despair for the jobs and no avail, she charged. SHGs in the state were in good condition when I earlier visited and now they are facing no positive change”.

She also said Dalits, Tribals, Adivasis, youth, students and others are a suffering lot in KCR Government. She alleged that KCR ignored the plight of all the sections and helped only his family members, who got political posts. The people should not believe in the false governance of the TRS leadership, she added.
“The four and half years rule pushed the youth and students on a wrong path as it did not address their problems. The Assembly elections in Telangana are a piquant situation and I promise to come up with a perfect plan for all round development of the state on getting power after the elections. The Congress leaders have informed to the people about the manifesto to focus on farmers, youth, students and all sections”, Sonia Gandhi said.
