KCR promises to revive lost glory of OU

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has promised to bring back the past glory to Osmania University.

At a meeting with higher education department officials here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that an advisory council would be appointed to the varsity celebrating decadal celebrations next year. He said that alumni of the varsity would also be invited for the celebrations.

The review meeting was attended by Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao, Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma, DGP Anurag Sharma, CMO Principal Secretary C. Narsing Rao, Education Department Principal Secretary Rajiv Acharya and other officials were present in the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that a full-time Vice-Chancellor for OU would be appointed soon.

Regarding, allegations of Eamcet paper leak, the Chief Minister advised the officials to enquire if there were any irregularities and instructed them to deal with the miscreants strictly. There should be no irregularities in higher education like paper leakages or faking certificates, he warned. (INN)
