“Did KCR order Nayeem’s encounter?” asked Leader of Opposition Mohammed Ali Shabbir in Telangana State Legislative Council on Tuesday.
During the debate on a bill on Cyberabad Commissionerate, Congress MLC Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy touched upon the subject of encounter of gangster Nayeemudddin. He asked as to why the list of police officials and politicians associated with the gangster was not being made public. Replying to his query, Legislative Affairs Minister T. Harish Rao said that the government was ready to give a detailed reply on the issue and would expose who nourished and supported the gangster. However, he said people were happy with the decision taken by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Taking an immediate queue from Harish Rao’s slip of tongue, Shabbir Ali asked whether the minister meant to say that it was KCR’s decision to kill Nayeem. “Did CM ordered the encounter or he himself killed the gangster?” he asked amidst mild laughter in the House. Harish Rao quickly corrected himself and said he was referring to the way KCR was running the administration in the State and not the encounter. (INN)
