Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is non-committal on preventing the controversial Polavaram Bill, former Congress minister Shabbir Ali has said.
Talking to mediapersons at Congress Legislature Party office here on Monday, Shabbir Ali alleged that KCR is just getting vocal on the issue instead of making to national capital. He also took exception to Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu for doing favor to AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Venkaiah seems to be forgetting that he is the Minister for the entire nation, not just to AP alone, he added.
Shabbir Ali suggested that the TRS leadership take up the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee, other leaders at New Delhi, instead of calling for bandhs and dharnas. “If KCR makes to national capital, we will also extend cooperation”, Ali said, adding that the Telangana CM should have already taken up the issue with the Centre, which is eagerly going ahead with the issue. It is not proper to KCR to adopt dual standards on the issue, he alleged.
Earlier, Shabbir Ali said Muslim minorities are being benefited from reservations implemented by previous Congress regime. In the presence of Shabbir Ali, CLP leader K Jana Reddy released a booklet relating to Muslim leaders, who made it to various key posts of MLAs, MLCs, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Jana Reddy attributed the present elevation of the Muslim Minorities due to the reservations given by the Congress regime at the Centre and in State. (NSS)
