KCR, Naidu address Judicial Officers conference

Hyderabad: A two-day State-level Judicial Officers conference commenced here today in which judges of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States are participating.
The event has unique importance as chief ministers of the two Telugu States gave their appearance. The conference is being organized at Hotel Marriott and attended by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu. Besides, Supreme Court judges Justice A R Dave, Dipak Mishra, N V Ramana, High Court chief justice Justice Dilip B Bhosle, Gujarat Chief Justice R Subhash Reddy and others also attended the conference.
KCR and Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamps along with the judges.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said a new High Court with modern facilities would be built in the new capital city Amaravathi. Basic facilities would be provided in all the courts in the State. He suggested adoption of new technology in the functioning of the courts. Later, Telangana Chief Minister KCR addressed the gathering.
The conference hall reverberated with clapping by the participants when KCR addressed his counterpart Chandrababu Naidu. KCR appreciated the efforts of judges for organizing this program. Telangana Chief Minister said as per information there are five lakh cases pending in the courts in the State. Stating that judiciary has its own role in development of the country, KCR said everybody should extend contribution effectively in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Supreme Court judge N V Ramana said service in the judiciary is like service to society. Quoting Bhagvadgita, Justice Ramana said justice always ensures your victory. There would be no difference of justice for poor and the rich, he said. The conference is being held after a gap of 10 years. Earlier it was held in 2006. The main objective of the conference was disposal of cases as early as possible. (NSS)
