KCR misleading people on GHMC polls: Shashidhar Reddy

Congress senior leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy has accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of misleading the people on conduct fo GHMC elections.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Shashidhar Reddy said that the Chief Minister got a major shock after Hyderabad High Court suspended the GO issued by the State Government reducing duration of GHMC poll process. “In an act of frustration, he issued a statement on January 7, he claimed that he was shortening the poll process as nearly one lakh employees would be required for poll duties. The State Election Commission has proved KCR wrong and said only 44,545 employees were being drawn for poll duties,” he said.

Shashidhar Reddy also accused KCR of misusing official machinery during the conduct of Chandi Yagnam and Warangal by-elections. (INN)
