Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will meet his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik in the first week of May to discuss about the formation of a people’s front as an alternative to the BJP and Congress at the Centre.
The meeting was planned as part of KCR’s efforts to bring about a qualitative change in the national politics. Since Odisha legislature was in session now, Navin Patnaik has invited KCR to meet him in the first week of May and the Telangana CM agreed to his suggestion. The TRS supremo has decided to have a one-on-one meeting with his Odisha counterpart and Biju Janata Dal supremo Naveen Patnaik.
According to informed sources, Chandrashekhar Rao had been invited by his Odisha counterpart to visit Bhuvaneshwar in the first week of May to discuss about the former’s proposal to form an alternative political front at national level against the two national parties. The sources said KCR was preparing to visit Uttar Pradesh and Delhi too to garner support for his People’s Front in the near future.
KCR was planning to form Federal Front for getting more powers to States from the Centre. He will also have a meeting with retired IAS officers and Constitutional experts to elicit their views on the changes that are to be brought in the system to decentralize power in the country. (NSS)
