Senior Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao here on Tuesday accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of transforming Telangana into a State of Drunkards.
Speaking to mediapersons, Hanumanth Rao urged CLP leader K Jana Reddy not to quit party posts in emotions and not to worry about those who deserted the party for personal benefits. The three-time Rajya Sabha member said the party cadre would be demoralized if Jana Reddy sacrificed his posts in disgust. “He should take courage and steer the party which is in great troubles in the present juncture.
Hanumanth Rao also questioned the ruling party and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as what he has done for the people during his two year rule. He called upon the party workers to visit every village and explain about the miserable failures of the Chief Minister. Reacting to Jana Reddy’s statement that he was ready to sacrifice CLP leader position for the sake of Congress party’s good image, VH said there was no need for such power sacrifice. “Chandrashekara Rao was trying to weaken the foothold of the Congress in Nalgonda district by luring its leaders with contracts in irrigation projects”, he said, adding “KCR must be feeling insecure like his AP counterpart, hence he was trying the decimate the Opposition.
