KCR lauds Sivaji for ties with Nizams

Nizambad, June 14: Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao, who misses no no opportunity to heap praise on the Nizam rulers, changed tack today and lauded Maratha hero Chhatrapati Sivaji by describing him as Veera Sivaji for his “great’’ association with the erstwhile Nizam state.

The TRS chief called upon the people to take part in the Telangana movement the way Veera Sivaji had fought for dharma in Maharashtra. Rao unveiled the statues of Veera Sivaji and Telangana Talli at Chinnamalla Reddy village in Kamareddy mandal in Nizamabad district.

Addressing a meeting later, he said Sivaji fought for the protection of dharma in the country. With the same spirit, Telangana people should fight for self-rule. After December 31 the TRS would continue the movement by demanding introduction of a Bill in Parliament during the budgest session facilitating creation of Telnagana state.

He wanted the people to defeat PCC president D Srinivas and former minister Md Ali Shabbeer who are likely to contest from the Nizambad and Yalla Reddy Assembly constituencies in the coming byelections.

“ They have no right to contest the byelections. They should stand before the Justice Sri Krishna committee and present their party’s policy on Telangana,’’ Rao said.

The TRS chief consoled the members of the family of police constable Kishtaiah whoshot himself with his service revolver in last December. TRS chief said that he would take care of Kishtaiah’s famly members.

The programme was organised by the Arya Kshatriya Sangam.

TRS Nizamabad district convenor A Ganga Reddy, E Ravindhar Reddy, former MLA Yousuf Ali and several others were present.
