KCR lacks credibility: Ponnala

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah today fumed at TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for his alleged remarks against the Congress.
Addressing the after opening a Control Room for elections at Gandhi Bhavan here, Lakshmaiah ridiculed KCR for talking tough on corruption. Though not averse, the Congress was not mounting pressure on the TRS for alliance, he said. “We are open for alliance on common minimum program basis giving top priority to winnable candidates and give second priority to social factor. The Congress agreed in principle to have alliance with the CPI and details will be announced in a couple of days. Though there is no indication from the TRS, we are open for talks on alliance”, he said.
On the formation of Telangana State, Ponnala said, “It is a historical event and being the national party, we are ready to take all along in the development process”, he observed. The TRS, he said, is indulging a political game for the general elections, but the people are aware of KCR who is noted for failing to keep his promises. The State Congress chief alleged that KCR lacks credibility and is misleading the public through campaigns.
The TPCC leader found fault with KCR for promising to supply water to one lakh acres in each district, giving land to poor and distribution of medicine to poor through helicopter. KCR is a noted disciple of “All Free Babu (TD Chief), who makes promises but fails to keep them, he alleged.
He sought to know what development KCR done in Medak and Mahabubnagar districts. We are preparing an action plan for building a “Golden Telangana” state he said, adding that Hyderabad must be developed for the purpose. He said that it is possible only with the Congress coming to power, but the people are aware of the TRS which is noted for failing to keep the promises made, he alleged. He accused KCR of coming in the way of development of the state of Telangana wherein the revenues of Hyderabad are essential for its 10 districts.
He alleged that KCR is trying to make politics on Singur and Manjira waters which are supposed to be brought to the Hyderabad city. Laksmahiah criticized the TRS Chief for talking otherwise for political motive and making a hue and cry out of nothing. He exuded confidence that the people will vote in favor of the Congress which developed the State and kept its promise on Telangana. (NSS)
