Energy Minister G. Jagadish Reddy on Sunday claimed that the State Government’s new scheme ‘KCR Kits’ has increased the institutional deliveries in Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons after making a surprise visit to Suryapet Area Hospital, the minister said that the State Government would soon establish ‘Sick Nursery Units’ to decrease the infant mortality rate. He said that the distribution of KCR Kits among mothers who giving birth to their child in government hospitals was giving good results. He said that the institutional deliveries would ensure safety of both pregnant women and new born children.
The minsiter assured that he would make efforts to get more funds and facilities for Suryapet Area Hospital. He also expressed anger over lack of basic amenities in the hospital. He said although the State Government was spending crores of rupees, the management and staff in some hospitals was not taking proper care of the hospital. Stating that he would visit the hospital once in every 15 days, he warned the erring staff of stringent action for negligence. (INN
