Hyderabad: TRS party nominees for the ensuing elections are now reeling under pressure and tension following uncertainty about being issued the requisite B Forms for officially entering the poll fray.
This fear seems to have stemmed from the fact that party supremo and care-taker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao now began to keep a tag and close watch on their poll campaign and unstinted efforts to effectively counter the opposition challenge to ensure the party’s victory at the hustings.
KCR is aware of the dissensions erupting in the party soon after the list of 105 nominees were released recently. Apart from a virtual revolt from those who failed to find their names in the list, signs of disgruntlement against sitting members who were given party tickets also came to the fore in some of the constituencies. Also reports about some party leaders trying to switch over to Congress and other parties, besides the emergence of a possible ” Maha Kutami”, an anti-TRS opposition front, comprising of Congress, TDP, CPI, TJS and other splinter groups is posing a big challenge to the ruling party.
Amidst these fast-paced political developments on the eve of the elections, KCR began to work out plans to ensure his party’s elections strategy. Apart from planning his own election campaign in as many as 100 constituencies spread over 50 days, he is also reportedly keeping a close watch on how his party nominees were working to ensure their victory. Thus he is stated to be gathering inputs from Intelligence sources and also from close confidants about the electioneering of the party nominees.
KCR also seemed to have gathered inputs about how many of the party nominees have sprung into action by holding election rallies and how many have yet to begin their campaign seriously. He is also keeping a close tab on how the party nominees are making efforts to enlist the support and confidence of the electorate in their respective constituencies.
Based on various inputs gathered. KCR also began telephoning the party nominees regularly and enquiring about their campaign. Instructions were also being issued to be them to speed up formation of booth-level committees of party cadre and how they should go about in a vigorous door-to-door campaign. He is also reportedly made it known to them that if they failed to come up to his expectations in electioneering he might be compelled to reconsider their nomination to contest.
It is pertinent to note here that Konda Surekha, who failed to find her name in the list released so far as the party nominee for her constituency has been kept on hold, and her husband Konda Murali, an MLC, have hoisted a flag of revolt against the TRS leadership and even planning to join Congress. Both have even blurted out and wondered as to how many of the party nominees announced till now would be finally given the B Form.
Thus the B Form seem to have virtually become sort of Sword of Democles for the TRS nominees!!!!.
