Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao directed the officials to ensure that pilgrims do not face any difficulties during the Godavari Pushkaralu.
KCR held a review meeting with the ministers and top officials on the conduct of Godavari Pushkaralu in five districts of the State. Ministers T Harish Rao, Tummala Nageshwara Rao, Jagadish Reddy, Indrakaran Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and Lakshma Reddy and Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister asked RTC Managing Director Ramana Rao to increase the bus fleet, wherever required. He said large number of pilgrims from Andhra region are visiting the ghats at Bhadrachalam and therefore, they should be provided with all required facilities and if needed, more buses should be arranged for their transportation.
The Chief Minister has been informed that Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and other senior police officials have been reviewing the security scenario and aerial surveillance too is being conducted from Basra to Bhadrachalam using helicopters. One helicopter has also been stationed at Bhadchalam to meet any eventuality. KCR also asked the authorities to take steps to minimise traffic jams on all the routes leading to pushkaram ghats.
KCR said special arrangements should be made at ghats at Bhadrachalam, Kaleshwaram, Dharmapuri and Basara where the flow of pilgrims is too heavy. (INN)
