KCR holds review meet on GO 123

A day after the Hyderabad High Court scrapped the GO 123 pertaining to land acquisition,  Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday met ministers and top bureaucrats to find a way out on the contentious issue.

Major Irrigation minister T Harish Rao said that the government would challenge the HC order in the Supreme Court. The ministers and officials were of the view that they would get a breather at the Apex court, the sources said. The state government has lined up many irrigation projects and has to acquire lands for all the projects.

The High Court on Wednesday scrapped the GO 123 saying that it bypassed the Land Acquisition Act 2013 which already provided compensation to the project oustees. (INN)
