Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is needlessly politicizing the issue of fee reimbursement and behaving like a Hitler by issuing threats to the people of Seemandhra, Andhr a Pradesh, alleged social welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu.
While speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday, he said that KCR was behaving irresponsibly and playing with the lives of lakhs of students of both the states.
“He has no respect for the law of the land and is behaving like a feudal lord. He is unnecessarily provoking people on regional lines and creating hatred among Telugu people,” he remarked.
In spite of Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu writing a letter to him and appealing through the media, KCR remained obstinate, he alleged.
“The new academic year has started in the neighbouring states and if the Telangana government delays the process of Eamcet counselling on the pretext of fee reimbursement, a large number of bright students will shift to other states,” he warned. Kishore Babu said that the total fee reimbursement of both the states amounted to about Rs 150 crore, of which the AP government was supposed to pay Rs 60 crore and, for the sake of Rs 90 crore, the Telangana government was playing with the lives of lakhs of students.
“As per the AP Reorganisation Act, Hyderabad will be the joint capital of both the states for ten years and the question of nativity, therefore, does not arise. Even according to Article 371-D, anyone who has been living at one place for four years should be treated as local.
Therefore, raking up the issue of nativity by KCR is neither constitutionally valid nor morally correct,” he pointed out and urged the Telangana government to settle the issue at the earliest. “If the Telangana government fails to resolve the issue, we will seek legal remedy and may even request the Centre to intervene,” the AP minister said.
