KCR has gone mad; no use debating with him

Hyderabad, October 11: Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah has lashed out at Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhar Rao, saying he has gone mad and is not going to discuss anything with such an insane person.

Speaking with reporters here Saturday, he said that he felt pity for Chandrasekhar Rao for his failure to see the reality. He was babbling like an insane person, Laxmaiah remarked.

The minister said that the recent flood was a calamity which occured once in 10,000 years. There was no human error and the Pothireddypady head regulator project was not the cause for inundation of Mahaboobnagar district, he asserted.

When had asked the TRS leader for a debate on Polavaram, Pulichintala, Pothireddypadu and Pranahita projects, he had kept quiet, the minister said.

Laxmaiah alleged that Chandrasekhara Rao was speaking in a vulgar manner oblivious of his stature but he (the minister) could not stoop to such low.

The minister said that the State Government had sought the help of the meteorological department and hydrology experts to decide on the future course of action regarding irrigation projects in the State. A comprehensive plan would be prepared to face large-scale floods in case of their occurrence, he said.
