Reiterating that Telangana Government would provide permanent shelter to the homeless and slum-dwellers in the twin cities, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today declared that in the next two years all the poor in the State would get double bedroom houses with all facilities.
Distributing house site pattas to the occupant poor people at Malkajgiri here along with Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and local MP Chandra Malla Reddy, KCR declared that his government would bear all expenses for providing housing facility to the poor and address all the grievances. Being the pro-poor government, it is a great feeling of sorts to distribute house site pattas to the deprived classes here, KCR averred.
The Chief Minister also made it clear that the State government would recover the lands grabbed by a former PCC chief at Manikonda area and use it for constructing houses for the poor. “There should be no huts in Hyderabad which will be made a global city by providing world class facilities” he asserted. “We are providing corruption-free governance with welfare and development as two eyes”, he said and appreciated Balladeer Gaddar for waging a protracted battle for the cause of the poor and deprived classes. As many as 1.25 lakh pattas were being distributed and two lakh more applications are yet to be finalised due to court cases, he said.
Disclosing that they have so far received 3.36 lakh applications for housing facility under GO No. 58 and 1.25 lakh pattas are being given now, the Chief Minister said the rest will be given to the poor on getting court clearance to the lands. KCR also said Rs 10,000 crore worth lands under the GHMC limits are being used for the purpose. He reiterated that Hyderabad will be made a global city with all facilities and infrastucture and provide housing facility to two lakh slum dwellers in the twin cities. Criticizing the previous government for failing to address the power needs, he said they have succeeded in tiding over power crisis and uninterrupted power will be supplied in future. (NSS)
