KCR focus on electoral promise of providing 2BHK

After the electoral promise of farm loan waiver, the next electoral promise Chief Minister KCR and his regime must keep is providing two-bedroom homes to weaker sections, each costing Rs 3 lakh.

The Chief Minister is reportedly eager to get the much publicized housing scheme off the ground and has instructed officials to work out the modalities.

According to sources, that the government will give preference to the poorest of the poor who live in thatched huts or are on the streets or homeless.

The beneficiaries or the recipient will be identified by a committee. As per conservative estimates, the demand will be for six lakh houses in rural areas.

At a cost of Rs 3 lakh per house, the budget required for a five-year period is Rs 18,000 crore!

22 lakh houses will have to be built in urban areas, bringing the total to about 28 lakh houses. Priority will be given to rural housing and extend it to urban areas in phases is the government’s plan.
