Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao here on Monday decided to initiate stern measures to protect the Gurukul Trust lands in the city. The CM strongly felt that Gurukul Trust lands were encroached upon and high rise building were coming up in gross violation of stipulated rules and regulations due to the criminal negligence of the previous governments.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting in the Secretariat on Monday on the encroachment of Gurukul Trust lands in the city. Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, T. Padma Rao, Mahender Reddy, GHMC and high ranking police officials were present.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister said his government would take all possible measures to protect the Gurukul Trust lands in the city without any compromise and hesitation. Warning that he would not tolerate even an inch of Gurukul Trust land was encroached upon, KCR directed the officials to immediately stop all the ongoing constructions and not allow building construction activity on Trust lands. The Chief Minister also made it clear that giving power and water supply to the buildings on Gurukul Trust lands is illegal.
The Chief Minister directed the Director General of Police and Hyderabad City and Cyberabad police commissioners to arrange police bandobust for protection of Gurukul Trust lands. If necessary, by organizing picketing by APSP jawans at the Gurukul Trust lands, he added. (NSS)
