Telangana Congress deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy today lambasted the TRS Government for failing to come to the rescue of farmers in the State.
Talking to mediapersons here, Jeevan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao have miserably failed to protect the rights of Telangana and get 54% power from Andhra Pradesh Government. He also alleged that at least three hours power was not being given to farmers resulting in their suicides, he charged.
In an open letter addressed to KCR, he asked the latter to take an all-party delegation to Delhi and represent the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Besides, he asked the CM to focus on the farmers’ plight. Seeking Rs 10,000 per acre towards input subsidy, Rs 5 lakh to each bereaved family and Rs 100 per quintal of rice additionally, Jeevan Reddy asked the government to provide immediate succor to farmers. Due to lack of planning and action by the government, the farmers are ending their lives, he charged. (NSS)
