Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has expressed shock and grief over the demise of veteran sports journalist T N Pillay. He described Late Pillay as the one who was instrumental in not only promoting younger sports journalists, who chose to make it their career, but also the initiatives of all the sports bodies.
The Chief Minister in his condolence message has said that undoubtedly, Late Pillay was a doyen of sports journalism as he served the leading English daily Deccan Chronicle as its Sports Editor for more than four decades, beginning his career way back in 1957. He also said that, he was also brain behind formation of the Women’s Cricket Association in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. He has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
