Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday reiterated that the State Government would provide all facilities to the police personnel in the State.
Addressing the Police Martyrs Commemoration Day function at Goshamahal Police Grounds here, the Chief Minister announced that the State Government’s decision to enhance the compensation for the police martyrs. He said the compensation for Constable and Head Constables have been enhanced from present Rs 25 lakh to Rs 40 lakh. Similarly, it will be Rs 45 lakh for Sub-Inspectors, Rs 50 lakh for Circle Inspectors and DSPs and Rs 1 crore for IPS officers. He assured that the compensation amount would be paid to the families of the martyr within one week. He also announced increase in daily allowance of police constables from Rs 90 to Rs 250. He said the government would provide free weekly medical check-ups for the personnel who completed 40 years in service. He said orders would be issued soon to grant Gazetted rank to the Sub-Inspectors. He also said that 50,000 CUG phones would be provided to the police personnel in the State.
Praising the services being rendered by the police personnel, the Chief Minister advised them to improve their relationship with the common people. He said that the government has given top priority to maintenance of law and order in the State. He said only peaceful atmosphere would bring more investments which would be beneficial to everyone in the State.
Earlier, Governor ESL Narasimhan paid homage to the police martyrs. Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, DGP Anurag Sharma and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
