KCR embarks on Delhi trip

To press Centre on giving shape to his brainchild of constructing a new Secretariat at either Gymkhana Grounds or Byson Grounds in Secunderabad, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is embarking on national capital tour for about three to four days according to information. He is likely to hold talks with Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on May 7 and seek his permission for taking over one of the grounds of Defence ministry. If the union minister concedes to his demand, KCR in turn, is to offer land to military department. Though earlier, CM planned to shift the Secretariat to Erragadda by shifting Chest Hospital to elsewhere, the idea was dropped due to some technical problems it is learnt. Consequently, the officials prepared a report saying that on one of these two grounds is useful for the new secretariat. KCR’s Delhi trip assumes significance as Parliament session is going on.
Besides, this the Chief Minister may talk to other ministers on other issues related to division of High Court, officials bifurcation, implementation of AP Reorganization Act and funds from the Centre under various heads. It is likely that the chief minister, on getting appointment, may meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urge him for speedy decisions on the issues and disbursal of funds to the state. (NSS)
