Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will distribute 2BKH flats among the beneficiaries at IDH Colony at 2 PM at 11 AM on Monday.
This will be first set of 2BHK houses to be distributed among the poor beneficiaries by the TRS Government as part of fulfillment of poll promises. Telangana ministers, legislators and senior officials will attend the function. Originally, the distribution of 2BHK houses was planned on October 22 on the occasion of Dussera festival. However, the same was postponed due to KCR’s participation in the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.
The IDH Colony is located in Ward No. 145, Padmarao Nagar, New Bhoiguda, Secunderabad. A total of 360 houses in 11 blocks were constructed by erstwhile MCH in the year 1969. Due to poor maintenance and other reasons, out of 11 blocks, reconstruction of 4 blocks which were in dilapidated condition were taken up by APSHCL/GHMC under VAMBAY Scheme.
The Telangana Chief Minister ordered demolish and re-construction of the houses into 2BHK flats.
The State Government accorded administrative sanction vide G.O.Ms.no.13 of SC Development (SCP) Dept Dt:30-09-2014 for Rs. 3654 lakhs including Civic Infrastructure under SCSP & TSP funds for the construction of 396 houses in (G+2) pattern in 33 blocks.
The government took entire responsibility for the construction of 396 houses without the beneficiary contribution. Of Rs. 36.54 crore, Rs. 31.28 crore were spent on housing while Rs. 5.25 crore were spent on infrastructure. The average unit cost of the project was Rs. 7.90 Lakhs for housing and provided with title deeds to the in-situ beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries include 276 Scheduled Castes, 31 Scheduled Tribes, 79 Backward Castes/Other Castes and Minorities. (INN)
