Hyderabad, December 25: Strongly condemning the attack on TD Legislature Party (TDLP) Deputy leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy in Osmania University campus this afternoon, TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao denied involvement of students in the incident.
“University students are in no way connected with the attack. Students are not taking part in such type of attacks,’’ he asserted.
Talking to newsmen here today, the TRS chief said antisocial elements were responsible for the attack and it was confirmed by the police officials.
He demanded the State Government to take stringent action against the attackers.
“We (TRS leaders) will visit TDP leader’s house to inquire about his health,’’ he added.
Meanwhile, leaders of State units of Communist Party of India and the BJP also condemned the attack on the TDP MLAs. CPI State secretary K Narayana demanded the State Government to take action by ordering judicial inquiry into the incident. BJP State president Bandaru Dattatreya also demanded an inquiry into the episode. In a press release here, Narayana held the Congress Central leadership responsible for the prevailing situation in the State. The Centre is making statements without taking political parties into confidence.
