KCR demands seizure of Jalayagnam files by ACB

Hyderabad, October 11: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao Saturday sharply reacted to Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah’s criticism, saying that the minister was escaping from his challenge by not giving a proper reply to his questions on floods which devastated the State.

The TRS president said that his party had launched an agitation against irregularities in Jalayaganam and demanded that the director of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) seize all the files relating to Jalayaganam before someone tampered with them. He said the TRS would not stop the agitation till it achieved the goal of exposing the guilty.

TRS Legislature Party leader E Rajender, along with all other legislature party leaders, would submit a memorandum to the ACB director tomorrow at his residence, he announced.

The TRS president reiterated his earlier charges on the flood damage and said that mismanagement and maladministration caused the flood damage. He said Central Water Commission (CWC) Chairman Arun Kumar Bajaj had alerted the State Government on the impending danger but the government did not take steps to prevent the floods.

“The government started the Jalayagnam to escalate the estimates and collect kickbacks from contractors. All these things will be exposed in the coming days to put a full stop to loot of money in the name of projects.’’ Rao, at the same time, clarified that he did not have personal grudge against any politicl leader or public servant particularly minister Lakshmaiah. “With human consideration and without a political motive I have raised my voice against the flood damage and demanded a CBI inquiry,’’ the TRS chief said.
