Hyderabad, November 03: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will announce its decision on whether it will contest the GHMC polls or not in a day or two.
The State Executive Committee of the party, which met here today, authorised party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao to take the decision.
Rao is likely to take a decision tomorrow.
Briefing reporters after the State Executive Committee meeting, party leader E Rajender said: “The meeting empowered the TRS chief to take a decision on whether to contest the GHMC polls or not.’’ After examining the issue from all the angles, Rao would take a decision whcih would ultimately help the Telangana movement, Rajender said.
He recalled that the TRS Politburo had already decided not to contest the GHMC polls. At today’s meeting, one or two city leaders voiced the opinion that the party should contest the elections. They, however, told the party chief that they would abide by his decision.
