Claiming that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been treating all castes and religions equally in the State, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi today predicted that the TRS-MIM alliance will sweep the 2019 Assembly elections. The TRS will retain power even after 2019 elections, he said and opined that the Congress will not be able to win even a single seat in the next elections.
Participating in short discussion on ‘Minority Welfare’ on Wednesday in the Assembly, Akbaruddin opined that the Chief Minister post was very small to K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has been taking historic decisions for the welfare of all sections of the society. He also said the Congress will taste the experience of GHMC elections in 2019 general elections.
Showering praises on the Chief Minister, Akbaruddin said KCR was relentlessly striving for the uplift of the Minorities continuously. Reminding that the Minorities had to fight for the budget for their uplift in the previous united Andhra Pradesh State, KCR was giving top priority to the development of Muslims. He said the Muslim students got justice with regard to fees re-imbursement only after KCR assumed office.
“Congress party did nothing for the Muslim Minorities in the last 70 years, but former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was the first person, who provided reservations to the Muslims”. He also recalled that YSR had taken a decision on reservations for Muslims succumbing to the pressure mounted by MIM party.
Stating that Chief Minister KCR has respect for Muslim, Christian and other religion heads on par with the Hindu priests, Akbaruddin said while the previous Congress government didn’t even think about Imams and Moazams, the KCR government was paying Rs 1,000 pension to Imams and Moazams. He also established residential schools for Minority students and no other State in the country established residential schools for Minority students.
Listing out other benefits for the Muslim Minorities in the first Telangana State, the MIM floor leader said the Chief Minister magnanimously allotted 10-acre land for an Islamic Centre as against the request for five acres. Besides, the Chief Minister was providing IAS and IPS coaching for the Muslim students, he said and urged the State government to start the coaching centers for the Muslim students in the districts also.
The present government was giving scholarships to the Muslim students, irrespective of marks and ranks, he said, adding that the Minority Study Circles were very much useful to Muslim students. The KCR government was announcing one after another welfare program for the benefit of all sections of people, he said and urged the government to announce special DSC for Urdu unemployed youth. The credit of pursuing education in foreign countries by the Muslim students goes to Chief Minister KCR only, he added. (NSS)
