Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao during his 13 year struggle for Telangana had declared a number of times that he is not interested in CM’s post and the first C.M. of Telangana would be a Dalith and Dy. CM. would be a Muslim but the TRS sources have indicated that on the insistence of party cadre, KCR has agreed to lead Telangana State. In such a case the chances of making Dalith leader C.M. have practical been vanished. Party claims that in order to ensure the development of Telangana and to fulfill the promises made by TRS, it is necessary that KCR should lead the Govt. if a Dalith is made CM, he won’t be in a position to give good governance. Party cadre increase the pressure on KCR to accept the post of C.M. Mr. KCR is trying to contest Assembly election from Gajwel and Parliament election from Medak. Observing this changing trends of KCR, Dalith leaders are perturbed. They are being pacified that Dalith leader will be given important position in the cabinet.
It is also doubtful that he will fulfill the promise of making a Muslim a Dy.CM. BC and SC communities of the party are campaigning to give the post of Dy. CM. to weaker section. If such a decision is taken the position of speaker of Assembly or Chairman of the council will be given to a Muslim leader. TRS has also promised that Muslims will be given 12% reservation and Urdu will be the second language. Only the time will show that whether these promises would be fulfilled. Muslim leaders of TRS are not in a position to say anything with certainty. TRS has 17 MLAs. For getting success for Rajya Sabha seat, 39 votes are required. Congress can get Rajya Sabha seat on the basis of its strength. It has 19 surplus votes. In order to make TRS agreeable for taking support from Congress, the party can support Dr. Keshav Rao.
