Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today called on Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan and closeted with him for some time.
The Chief Minister is known to have revealed his mind on the first Budget session of newly-formed Telangana State. It is likely that the budget will last for three to four weeks beginning October 27. Since the TRS has postponed its plenary twice, the State Government is planning to conduct the budget session only after Deepavali festival that falls on October 23. KCR is learnt to have informed this to the Governor and other key issues that the government has taken up.
As per AP Bifurcation Act, the government got interim budget till last day of November recently. Before the deadline comes to an end, the government has to get the budget passed for which exercise is almost complete. The meeting of the Chief Minister with the Governor assumes significance as KCR has decided to go in for at least a three-week budget session, which probably begins in October last week, sources said. A whopping budget of about Rs 80,000 crore to Rs 1 lakh crore is expected to be tabled in the Assembly during the session. It may consist of Rs 50,000 crore non-plan allocation and Rs 35,000 crore plan allocation. (NSS)
