Alleging that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao cabinet’s decision is likely to encourage suicides by farmers, Telangana TDLP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao has said the Cabinet failed to take appropriate decisions, which would help the people.
The Telangana TDP leaders met at Errabelli’s residence here on Sunday. TTDP president L Ramana, MLA Revanth Reddy, Mothkupally Narsimhulu, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Ravula Chandrashekar Reddy, MP Garikapati Mohan Rao and others attended the meeting.
Speaking to the media later, Errabelli said everyone thought that the Cabinet would take a decision that would curb suicides of the farmers. He said it was not proper for the Chief Minister to announce that Rs 6 lakh ex gratia would be paid to the kin of those farmers, who committed suicides after September 19. He demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao waive off the Rs 1 lakh loan of farmers at one go. He also said the Telangana TDP leaders would meet the Union Agriculture Minister on September 22 demanding him to do justice to the Telangana State farmers.
Senior leader Ravula alleged that the TRS government was showing discrimination towards farmers. “The eye washing statements would not make the farmers happy”, he said. Reminding the KCR’s statement that his government would implement China policies, Ravula demanded that the State government reveal what policy he would implement. (NSS)
