KCR blasts T Cong leaders; Asserts TRS alone can reconstruct the state

The TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao today mounted a scathing attack on the Congress leaders of Telangana region for their failure to participate in the separate State movement, and made it clear that reconstruction of the new State will be possible with TRS only.

Dr Sanjay and some leaders of other parties joined the TRS in the presence of KCR at Telangana Bhavan here. Speaking on the occasion, KCR said that Telangana state became a reality following many struggles and sacrifices. The Congress party, however, was talking as if it had given the State as a matter of mercy. The separate State was the result of nearly 14 years of relentless battles by the TRS, he said and asked whether any of the Congress leader participated in the movement.

With good leadership and vision., T state could be developed as Number one state in the country, he said adding that the TRS knew what is needed by the people of the region. He said that when he started the movement, many leaders laughed at him, but the people of the region had extended their full support to it. He said that many congress leaders clung to positions during the regime of late Dr YSR and later during Kiran Kumar Reddy leadership. Some of the leaders conspired to weaken the T movement. The people of the region remained in dark during the regime of Seemandhra leaders, he said and questioned whether Ponnala Lakshmiah had not signed for all the irregular irrigation projects in Andhra region. When Kiran Kumar Reddy declared that he would not give even a single Rupee to the region, Ponnala and other Congress leaders kept mum. D K Aruna had extended red carpet welcome to Andhra leaders who looted Telangana waters, he added.

The TRS chief declared that the party would always be behind the weaker sections and the down-trodden people and see that they lived with self-respect. He said two bed-room houses would be constructed for the weaker section people of the region, for which Rs.3,000 crore per year would be required. He also promised that after two years, 24 hour power supply would be given to the farmers in the State. He reiterated that justice would be done to the people of the State onlu if TRS came to power.

KCR deplored that in the name of Metro rail project, Telangana heritage and culture was being ruined. A conspiracy was going on to see that heritage structure in Sultan Bazar, Moazamjahi Market and the Assembly buildings were demolished, he said and added that efforts should be made to achieve ‘Bangaru Telangana’.(NSS)
