Hyderabad: AIMIM chief and the Hyderabad sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi said he would consider Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as a better candidate for the Prime Minister’s post than Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi.
Speaking at a public meeting here Sunday night, he termed Congress and BJP as two sides of the same coin and alleged that despite having a majority during their respective terms, both the national parties had ‘failed’ to deliver on their promises.
He asserted that “I don’t know what God will decide and people will decide. If you ask me to choose one of these three, KCR has more ability than Modi and Rahul Gandhi for the Prime Minister’s post as he understands the Indian constitution much better than both of them.”
The 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana will be swept by TRS and MIM and there is a chance that there will be non-BJP and non-Congress Government at the Centre.
He further added that “If you make a list of eligible persons for the Prime Minister’s post, KCR’s name will be in the list.”
He is seeking re-election from Hyderabad for a fourth consecutive term. The parliamentary constituency has been a MIM stronghold for over three decades. His father Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi represented the constituency and was elected for six consecutive terms from 1984 to 2004.
