KCR backs Rahul for PM

In a startling revelation, TRS supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao today asserted that AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi will become Prime Minister.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan here on Friday, after a party State Executive meeting, KCR said the TRS would extend support to Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister. He said, “Of course, talks were on with various like-minded parties on “Third Front” which will be in place at the Centre. The TRS is determined to extend support to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and help Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister”, he maintained.

The TRS president said there was no Modi mania in the country as a section of the media was creating a hype. KCR asserted that the BJP-led NDA will not come to power at the Centre. Rejecting some media reports that BJP leader Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will be the next Prime Minister, KCR said, “the people are neither in favor of the BJP nor its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi”.

Perhaps for the first time after the general elections, the TRS chief said he remains grateful to AICC president Sonia Gandhi for conceding statehood to Telangana. “I have no enmity towards Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi personally. It is because of Sonia, we have got statehood and it is our duty to be thankful to the Congress”, he reiterated. There was no chance for the NDA to return to power at the Centre and the TRS will not support it at any cost. If necessary, the TRS will support the UPA to form the Government at the Centre, he added. (NSS)
