KCR asks officials to boost RTC’s revenues

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday directed the officials of the state run Road Transport Corporation officials to work in tandem to increase the revenues of the Corporation and make it a profit making body in addition to  better the services to the commuters across the state.

Addressing a review meeting with the top officials of the TSRTC at Hotel Marriot here on Friday, Chandrasekhar Rao directed the officials to run special mini- buses to places like Sabarimal, Kondagattu, Bengaluru, Tirupati during festive seasons. He also asked the officials to increase the frequency of commercials in order to increase the revenues through advertisements. He suggested the officials to run special buses during religious fetes like jataras and to allow hiring of RTC buses to education institution for excursions and education tours.

It was also decided to run mini-AC buses on the Warangal, Nizamabad routes on pilot basis and later regularize them if the results of encouraging. The RTC also decided to create the post of ED (Revenue) as part of the RTC revamp.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Transport Mahendar Reddy directed the authorities to work with dedication to take the corporation at the top slot in the country.  TSRTC chairman S. Satyanarayana, RTC MD Ramana Rao and other officials of the corporation were present on the occasion. (INN)
