KCR asked officials to implement Road Policy

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed the officials concerned to implement the Roads Policy prepared for three years for the ST habitats from this year.

The Chief Minister reacted to news reports appeared in a section of the media about the hardships being faced by the people in the remote Utnoor area in Adilabad district due to lack of proper road network. The CM also spoke to CMO Special Secretary Bhoopal Reddy and others in this regard. The CM wanted immediate construction of the road from Donga Chintha to Sonapur road. He wanted this road to be included in the first year road network works.

The Chief Minister also wanted works of other roads in the ST habitats to begin immediately. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Bhoopal Reddy held a meeting with Tribal Welfare Secretary  Mahesh Dutt Ekka and Commissioner Laxman. They also discussed the road network in the 1200 ST Habitats in the State. They have decided to have road network in 432 Habitats in the first year at a cost of Rs 250 crore. In the first phase at a cost of Rs 89 lakh, Donga Chintha-Sonapur road will be laid. (NSS)
