In a major development, the Telangana Government today accorded administrative sanction to the long-pending Palamur Lift Irrigation scheme.
A whopping Rs 32,500 crore will be spent for the project to become operational. KCR today signed the related file after getting administrative sanction from the Finance department. After approving the related file after signing it, directed the officials to complete the works in an expeditious manner.
The Chief Minister will formally launch the related works of the Palamur Lift scheme by laying a foundation stone on June 11. Thus, the approval from the State government paved the way for distribution of irrigation waters to about 10 lakh acres in Mahbubnagar and also some pockets of Ranga Reddy district. With this, the long awaited dream of getting irrigation waters to the parched lands of backward Palamur district come true. (NSS)
