Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today showered sops to Alampur, the fifth Shaktipeetham among 18 noted Shaktipeethams across India of Goddess Durga by announcing a 100-bedded multi-specialty Hospital to cater to the needs in backward Mahabubnagar district besides a mini-bus depot and other facilitiees.
Addressing the media after launching the 12-day Krishna Pushkarlu in the State, the Chief Minister said in a week he will get back to the Palamur district with a plan to take up developmental programs along with the hospital, a mini bus depot for better connectivity and other basic infrastructure and facilities. “I prayed the goddess to bless Telangana with abundant rainfall for better harvest to flourish the people”, he said.
The Jogulamba temple, despite having historic prominence with enticing architecture and a rare style of design with marvelous look has been neglected for decades by the previous governments, he bemoaned. “It needs an immediate overhaul and the government will discuss the issue with Archeology department to develop it on par with any other Shakthipeethams in the country”.
