TDP senior leader and former minister Kadiyam Srihari has said while every single party could understand his party’s stand on Telangana, he did not understand why TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao alone was unable to understand.
Speaking to the media along with another TDP leader Ravula Chandrasekhara Rao at the NTR Trust Bhavan here on Tuesday, he said his party gave two letters to the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde at the time of the all-party meeting and any one who read the letters would understand that TDP was clearly for the creation of Telangana. He said the letter of October 18, 2008 and the one of December 27, 2012 were both signed by his party chief Chandrababu Naidu. He also said that they informed the Centre that they were for Telangana in the presence of KCR. Stating that every party was supporting Telangana, he said KCR was alone unable to understand it.
He said KCR could be fearing that his party would be weakened if he admitted that TDP was for Telangana.
The two leaders said they were willing to undergo any punishment if it was proved that in their letter they had not favoured Telangana. They also challenged KCR if he would accept such punishment if it was proved otherwise.
Demanding that Union Home Minister release the minutes of the all-party meeting to the media, the two leaders said they were ready to undergo any punishment if it was proved that their party expressed itself against Telangana.
They said they had also demanded the Centre to announce a roadmap on Telangana. They also said the Congress party should first declare its stand before questioning the TDP. They said the Telangana Congress leaders were talking without common sense. They charged the ‘T’JAC with acting under the directions of the TRS. They demanded that Shinde should stick to his commitment of announcing a decision on ‘T’ within a month.
